There are a lot of gas and moisture in some workpieces, which will be discharged into the vacuum chamber when the equipment is heated to reduce the vacuum degree. Moreover, some gases contain toxic components, which directly damage the mechanical structure in the vacuum chamber, resulting in the failure of normal operation of the equipment.
In addition, during the coating process, due to the thermal expansion of the gas in the workpiece, it is easy to break the coating. Of course, there is no probability of this happening
Depending on the physical properties of the workpiece itself, if it is easy to expand, such as plastic, the probability is high; if it is hard, such as metal, the probability is low, but it can not be ignored, so degassing of the workpiece is very necessary.
Generally, the degassing method of the workpiece we use is baking, and the gas and moisture in the workpiece are discharged by heating. Before coating, heat the workpiece while pumping air. When the moisture and gas in the workpiece are released by heating, they are extracted by the vacuum pump together with the gas in the vacuum chamber.
Different degassing measures for different workpieces can effectively control the emission of gas and moisture in the workpieces and improve the stability and uniformity of the coating.
